Sara Cooper 

Sara completed undergraduate work in Genetics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, received her Ph.D. in Genetics from Stanford University in 2006 and completed her post-doc at the University of Washington in Seattle in 2010. Sara has been at HudsonAlpha since September 2010.

Bobbi2014Bobbi Johnston 

Bobbi got her Ph.D. from University of Alabama-Huntsville. She has been working as a Research Assistant in the Cooper Lab since July 2014. In addition to her scientific pursuits, she is responsible for maintaining order!

Karl2014 Karl Ackerman 

Karl is a graduate student at the University of Alabama – Birmingham doing his thesis work in the Cooper Lab. His research project focuses on the effects of polyaromatic hydrocarbons on natural bacterial populations. He began working with us in June 2012.

Ryne2014Ryne Ramaker 

Ryne is a M.D./Ph.D. student at the University of Alabama – Birmingham doing his thesis work in the Cooper Lab at HudsonAlpha. His research project focuses on multi-pronged genomics and metabolomics approaches for the improved understanding and  treatment of pancreatic cancer. He began working with us in June 2014.

LAB ALUMNI 

Taylor Smith 

Taylor is a recent graduate from Auburn’s program in biomedical engineering. He worked in the Cooper Lab as a BioTrain intern in June 2012 and has remained with us through June 2013. He is currently studying medicine at Wofford University

 

Christina Pickering

Christy worked in the Cooper Lab as a Biotrain 2013 intern. She is currently continuing her studies at Auburn University. Her work was profiled by al.com (here).

 

Karin Bosma

Karin worked as a technician in the Cooper Lab from April 2011-July 2014. She is currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program at Vanderbilt University.

 

 

Rebecca Hauser

Becky is a 2014 Biotrain intern working on identifying degradation products for polyaromatic hydrocarbons in yeast. She was recently profiled along with three other interns in an article published here. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
